A NEW MILEAGE RECORD?
HI! I just returned from a trip to Roswell, New Mexico....home of the aliens! I was fully loaded with my son in tow...I need air shocks in the back! LOL I started from my home....*.e. wisconsin....travelled 1,400 miles to get there....saw some awfully pretty sites along the way...my first mileage calculation was 32.5....that was through Illinois...I thought amazing...of course no ac! Then I checked it after a cruise through IOWA...all flat land...straight out highway driving...no stops....I calculated an awesome 34.2 mpg!! These cars are amazing! I guess the Mobil 1 didnt hurt either.mileage fell off a bit with the ac on...31.5....97 bonnie...108,000....all original....except for the intake...

Those are some good milage stats there, what cruising speeds were you traveling at?
Glad to hear you had a good trip and the car stood up with out problems all the way.

I often get 30Mpg on the highway, usually cruising around 75Mph with the AC on. Best ever was about 33Mpg but now its usually 30 and I dont know why it changed. Great cars

Good numbers, I took my family to Michigan a few weeks ago, and got 34.3 mpg. I was floored, I have seen other posts on this subject, and the numbers they were talking were'nt near as impressive. I even have a miss that exists throughout the rpm ranges, I'm suspecting an vacuum leak (intake?) Still runs fairly fast for what it is, and cant wait to fix the vacuum leak. 135k car.

I've driven mine from Pennsylvania to Colorado twice, and a road trip to New Mexico, never got worse than 30MPG driving pretty fast with the A/C on. My friends cannot believe how good it is on gas. If I ever do get a new car I'm keeping this one for roadtrips.
