OK, Here is the scoop, Left side tire no play at 12 & 6 o'clock, some play at 3 & 9 o'clock, no play with breaker bar. Right side tire a little play at 12 & 6 , some play at 3 & 9, and no play with breaker bar. OK, what is considered the allowable movement? on some of the 3 & 9 o'clock movement the strut had a small amount of twist. Were do I go?
Thanks,
gator

3 and 9 is tie rod ends. have to look/feel if it'* inner or outer. More than likely inner. Not a hard fix, but you will need a new alignment afterwards.

I've never done front end work before. How much trouble is it to change out tie rods. Should I do inner & outer while I'm at it? how about lower ball joints? Are they hard to change? If I need to pay for a alignment I might as well knock out everything if its not to much work.

Okay, worked to midnight last night changing out inner & outer tie rods both sides. Going on test drive this morning. I bought Ball joints also but couldn't find any 12 o'clock& 6o'clock play. Should I install them anyway? How much work is it?
Later,
Gator

Went to Sears and had bought alignment. The Tech said the rear ball joints were worn. Still have some vibration. Everything I do seems to help some, but can't seem to achive perfection.
