need to replace the steering wheel column

how do i disabel the air bag? what other systems will it affect? what all is involved?

to disconnect
pull the airbag fuse (fuse #7 from the fuse panel
disconnect the yellow SIR connector

to reconnect
reconnect the yellow SIR connector
put the air bag fuse back in (fuse #7 in the fuse panel)
start the car and verify that the Inflatable restaint warning lamp flashes 7-9 times and then goes out
