Ive been having issue with my car sometimes not starting. Was told I need to replace the Crank Angle Sensor. Where is this sensor located, and how do I go about replacing it?

Crank sensors aren't very common to be replacing.

It'* located right above the harmonic balancer on the end of the crank. Have you exhausted the normal possibilities like TPS, fuel pressure, coil packs and MAF?

Well I replace waterpump, Alt, Coilpack, wires plugs, fuel pump was replace by dealer 1 or 2 ago... problem is that sometimes the car doesn't start. it just cranks... but if I let it sit overnite it starts up... or maybe even acuple of hours... i thought it was the fuel pump but it was recently repalce so it can't be... how can i test for a bad fuel pump? I didn't check TPS, or Fuel Pressure or maf... how do i test for those?

If it was a ford with EEC, it would be either the ignition module or the pickup inside the dizzy...not sure if pontiacs behave the same way though

Tommy..if you can replicate it easliy.

It might payoff to check for spark and fuel pressure.

Also having recently read up on a cam sensor, the first steps are to check the wiring leading to the sensors.

It happens random... Sometimes I think its the security system fuel cut...
