I recently bought a ported and polished L36 LIM, and I'm just going over it once, mostly cleaning off some dirt and grime. (Not much else to do. Justin did a great job on this.)
One thing I noticed was a worn gasket. Rectangular thing, just behind and below the thermostat port. (See attachment.) What'* that called, and is there a premade gasket or do I have to squeeze my own?

Thanks! I don't have immediate plans to swap in that new LIM, but I'll definitely keep RockAuto and ZZP in mind when it'* time. (ZZP calls it the intake manifold end cap gasket.)
That kit, metal LIM gaskets, and a set of coolant elbows are all I need for a LIM swap, correct?

IMO, I wouldn't get LIM gaskets from ZZP again. They didn't fit properly. Not sure how that'* possible, they didn't and I had two engines in pieces at the time.
GM'* fit great on both. ZZP'* didn't sit right on the end seals, felt different......cheap.

It was the end seals on the ones I experienced. They bowed up and wouldn't stay in the pin holes. Made it difficult to get the LIM situated properly while trying to use a third and fourth hand to hold them.
