Alernator has been replaced, 2 times to be exact since I have owned the car.

The whole assemble was replaced along with the pulley when I downsized to the 2.2" */c pulley

I agree, preloading has nothing to do with belt tension or shredding.

Just got the car back. When I started to challenge them they said that the belt could also use some "breaking in" to form to the pulleys. Geez, a thousand miles isn't enough?! BS, if you ask me.

Look close when he is on top... after the belt leaves the SC on the way to AC it'* twitching back and forth..
