It should be that the switch needs to be adjusted. You can move it in and out. If the switch is not engaging all the way, the torque converter will move in and out of lockup.
OK I'm a bit confused on the issue about my torque converter in relation to the switch. when driving up a up-grade and it starts bucking and then i put slight pressure on the brake pedal it kicks down and the bucking stops. does this mean the torque converter is moving in to lock-up or out of lock-up, which brings the next confusion, if it'* coming out of lock-up do i adjust the switch in so i depress the plunger in more or adjust it out to let more of the plunger out.

Good morning Richard. Dan'* not on right now, and I am not as familiar with this as he is, but I would suggest adjusting the switch one way (in or out) and taking the car for a drive. If it doesn't work adjust it the other way and go for another test spin. Trial and error may answer your question.
Did you test the switch as shown in the thread we linked you to?
I'm sure Dan will be on later.

no i haven't tested the switch as of yet cause i don't have a tester, i have to wait for me friend to find his and then i can test it. i just assumed that cause the car dropped down when i slightly pressed the brake pedal that the switch was good. am i wrong in assuming this.
