I found the culprit of the "squishy seat". For whatever reason the inside pin was missing from the seat back adjuster. The soft feeling was because the seat back was only being supported by one side of the adjuster. I added a bolt and the problem is gone. Did you change the PCV and ensure the o ring is there? That'* usually the cause of a whistling..or possibly a leaking vacuum hose.
