Default motor swap question?

I put a 3800 out of a 98 Monte Carlo into my 96 Bonneville now my oil pressure guage is all the way over to the max. Car runs fine but I want to correct the guage. Any suggestions?????????

did the monte have gauges or a light on the dash . might have to change the oil sending unit on the motor to what your car was using.

I'm not sure but I looked the instrument cluster up online and I think it had just a light.

on your old motor in your car did you have gauge or a light . if you change the one off of your old motor and put it on this one it should read normal . unless you have a pinched wire some where.

I don't know if it will fit. Everything from my old motor didn't match up with the new one so I'll have to check

W body cars (donor for the motor) usually dont' have a pressure gauge. Swapping the sender should do the trick.

is this your old sender was it working ok before. try checking the wires to make sure none of them are pinched or cut . you got all the grounds hooked back up on the motor ??
