Default More Vats Problems?

Hello, I had problems with my car not starting some time back. It was recomended I bypass the VATS key with resistors. This worked great for about 6 months. Now I'm back to waiting in parking lots till the SECURITY light goes out. Sometimes it takes several tries (10 minutes or more). I am having about 50% chance of getting in my car and it starting, so I think my bypass is still working ok. The SECURITY light does come on frequently while driving. I understand there is a VATS module. Could this be the problem? Where is it and is it difficult to replace. Will I need to reprogram anything? Can I use one from a junkyard?
Any help is appreciated. Im about to go and buy a new car...but nothing feels as comfortable as my 97 Bonny.

Check the resisters you installed first and see if something has changed. Check the connections and make sure they are good.

Of all the cars on here, I don't recall ever hearing of someone needing to do that. Does sound like you might have a flakey connection somewhere. Did you solder the wiring?
