while your at it change the fuel filter

Replaced the filter prior to replacing the pump... retested the fuel pressure at the rail (make sure the pump is pumping properly) and oddly enough Im running the same specs as before... which is low according to what others have told me... but BOTH pumps running the same pressures??? im thinking the pump is fine and its something else... but for those thinking this already... i checked the connections while the pump was out and the tank was down and cleaned them of any corrosion... was little but still... so they are making good contact

Did you check your FPR fuel pressure regulitor?

K... now i know what the fuel pressure regulator does... not completely ignorant to it but I cannot seem to locate its place and how (if there is a way) to check to see if its bad

This is a area that 1993 SLE is much better suited to cover. I'm not as knowledgeable with the series 1

K... well thanks anyways... i found the info on autozone.com repair guides so ima check on the regulator tomorrow after lunch when it warms up a bit lol

question tho... does anyone have a direct yes or no on if the coil packs are interchangeable between the series II and the series I... all the numbers i can find match and the pictures are the same but i would think they would have changed them with the upgrades over the years... no need to change if the system is flawless but bigger is usually better lol

i was just looking at getting a whole NEW performance coil module and the performance packs and wires to go with the nice red paint on the car and to ensure spark LOL... plus i like red better than the black/grey of the stock ones

I checked and both your 94 and my 97 use the same coil. I went with red MSD coils. Changing them out was easy.

K cool... is there any place to get a good performance coil/ignition module for the coil packs or should i just get a new ac delco replacement?

changed out the camshaft sensor AND the crankshaft sensor the other day. Nadda. *sigh* o well just another new part and more fun right??? lol

now rescaned the car and a tech looked at it... thinking cyl 5 injector is out or fading... still gotta test that but the codes changed slightly
P0325 knock sensor circuit & P0171 fuel trim lean... indicated the injector being bad could be the fix and will test and respond.

now i have a query if anyone knows... i have a 94 and i was looking for headers... would the 96 or the 98 headers bolt up the same? the block should be the same but all 3 are different part #'* so if anyone can tell me im really into the 98 headers from 3800 Performance site: -- The Other Guys Exhaust Headers: 3800 Performance
