Default Meineke almost killed me. No apology.

Need your help.

I visited the Meineke(Parma, 5284 Ridge Rd, Ohio) in cleveland and ask the wheel alignment job.

It was little bit weird after the wheel alignment, but I trusted the mechanic he said the tire was adjusting. then, I went to Cincinatti. It was 5 hours drive to cincinatti.

There was a big heavy rain while I was driving. I reallized that the wheel alignment was seriously wrong. I was almost killed several times on the middle of the strange highway. My car was driving like zig-zag and it slipped and spinned. That'* was the most dangerous driving in my life.

Arriving cincinatti, I went to the other Meineke and ask check the wheel alignment again. They said it was totally wrong as I suspected.

Here is the specific data.

Left front

Actual -0.07, 2.81, 0.01, 6.99, 6.92
Before -1.13, 2.81, 0.75, 8.05, 6.92
Specfied range -0.3~0.7, 2.5~3.5, -0.1~0.1

Right front

Actual -0.04, 3.25, 0.01, 2.18, 2.15
Before-0.19, 3.25, 0.87, 2.33, 2.15
Specified range -0.30~0.70 2.5~3.5, -0.1~0.1

Left Rear

Actual -0.06, 0.14
Before0.03, -1.32
Speficied Range -0.8~0.2, -0.05~0.15

Right rear

Actual -0.37, -0.00
Before -0.54, -2.22
Specified Range -0.8~0.2, -0.05~0.15

Camber Toe

rear Actual 0.32, 0.14, 0.07
Before 0.57, -3.54, 0.45

I am pretty upset and went to the Meineke in Cleveland(5284 Ridge Rd, Parma, Ohio).

I just wanted money back that I paid one week ago and some tire job because the tires are totally worned due to the bad alignment.

The manager, Mark, however, said he is "NOT RESPONSIBLE" for the wrong wheel alignment. He added, the machine is used one and I was the second customer. They found the machine was wrong and stopped doing wheel alignment job after me.

It'* ridiculous though, because they should have informed me the alignment job was wrong as soon as they find but they didn't even let me know.

That'* why I went to Cincinatti and was almost killed on the middle of the road.

Where do I complain? How can I do?
I'll do anything I can do. Those kind of mechanic should not be allowed to work anymore.

Is there a Better Business Bureau in the US? What about Meineke head office. Since its franchised you might have some luck with the coporation.

Sorry to hear about the bad news. The positive side is you got out unharmed and better educated about the problem. Good luck

In addition to the above, you should also contact the Attorney General'* office in your state and see what they say.
But you might want to start it all off with a firm, but nice letter, demanding your money back, stating all the things you will do if they don't. You might also contact Meineke to let them know what one of their franchisees has done and see if they can put pressure on them.
If that'* how that shop does business, they probably won't last long.

That company should have a central customer service number. Call them up and tell them your problem - make sure you give them the manager'* name.

I would call one of those I-Team investigators on the TV. Once the guy is shown on TV and Mineike gets bad publicity, they will be more than happy to compensate you...

Default Meineke customer service

I called the meineke customer service, but they said it is the privately owned store and it is nothing to do with the Meineke. They added that complaint was forwarded to the owner of the store.

I am waiting for the reply from the owner, but I can't find any reply as of now.

Obviously their corporate office has no concern for their customers.

The problem is they are franchises, so Meineke doesn't have a lot of control over the stores like a Sears would.
BUT Meineke would have franchise standards that they want their franchisees to meet, so you might even try talking to someone on a higher level at the office.
