Well, I put my screen back in, and I HATE IT!! Whoever said we get more top end power this way lied to me! Should it actually be a noticeable difference?
I can feel the loss of power all the way through the RPM range. I'm gonna leave it that way for now, though. Figure the loss of power will be good for the upcoming Icy Road season.
I can still literally smoke the tires, tho, as I found out yesterday morning leaving here. That cloud of blue smoke coming from down there, and the nice log double stripe on the road feel so satisfying leaving work...

Hmm, I guess it depends on whether or not you have an intake. With an intake, your flow should be smooth enough to not worry about the maf screen. On the other hand with a stock intake, it is not.
Read the airbox mod post in Techinfo. Some people have luck with this, some don't. Seems the cars themselves have preferences. A gutted airbox may not be enough to be able to remove it, but an Intake with a cone is for sure.
I will personally see this, when I get my intake on the car in a week. Many people have said however that 96 and up bonnies have problems having the maf screen pulled.
