Default yeah

you could always put in some heavy oil... the oil pressure sending unit it right by the filter.. so if the filters glogde it will make your engine knock.. and it will show low oil pressure... and oil should still be able to get up the to valve....
maybe try a different oil filter.. and oil

Hey Al, didn't the 92-93 3800 have some trouble with the #1 main bearing having too much clearance causing some bearing knock? Just a thought, I know some of the 3300'* didn't last too long due to these troubles as well.. :?:
I'll try the Oil Filter swap first maybe to see if that makes a difference as compared to throwing "chemicals" into my nice clean engine. :?

I know the 2 - 96 Regals had this problem, as I've bought one engine (my Series II) and have just seen a second at work the other day. The Series II I bought though had a #6 Conn Rod Brng spin, while the one at work last week had #1 Conn Rod Brng spin.

Well it'* going from bad to even worse now! I changed the oil & filter after using an engine flush to clean out the galleries. I let the flush run for a full 20 mins too. I put in clean oil (Castrol XTR 10W30) & a new Oil Filter (Fram PH3387A - Only one I could get from Walmart on a Sunday ) . The oil is so clean you can barely see it, but the knock & low oil Pressure is still present. So I drove to Zellers & picked up a can of STP Oil Treatment & added that. A very slight gain in Oil Pressure while in Park idling, but no big difference while in Drive or reverse. Besides the Knock is still there too. My synopsis is one of the bearings are starting to go. There was coolant present in the old oil, most likely from when I R&I'd the rear head. I thought I got all the coolant out, I guess I guessed wrong! Now this coolant could have eaten the bearings in the bottom end, hence causing all my woes! The low Oil Pressure is then a result of too much clearance in the bearings now & also why I now have a knock too. As I can get a whole car for the price of an engine rebuild nowadays, I think I might be in the market for a new car.....

Can you find one of these cheap and sawp your EGR'less intake on it untill you can build your hot rod? If the price is right it might be cheaper than buying another car...
Well I can get a whole car for cheaper than an engine swap right now. I'm looking at another member'* 92 SSEi next weekend to see if it'* worth buying. http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...pic.php?t=5755
If the engine is good & strong, I'll buy it, as the price can't be beat. If the SSEi needs an engine too, then I'm afraid I'll have to pass on this gorgeous car. I'm looking at cars under the $5000 Cdn range now that are newer than 1992, 4 doors, Automatics and are cheap on Insurance. :? Anyone selling a car in the Edmonton area? BTW! I'm NOT getting rid of my beloved Bonneville though regardless of it'* outcome.
