I need to know how to hotwire a 93 Bonneville.

If it'* not possible, then I need to know the easist way to get the car running, dealer replacement key?

Any ideas would be greatly appracited...I need to get the car out of my back yard and the driveway is to narrow for a tow truck to get it.

I know of no way of "hot wiring" a bonneville, for one you have passkey II.

You should be able to replace the lock cylinder and igntion but I'm not sure if you can remove it without a key...I'm sure others on here know, but I've never had to remove the lock cylinder on any of my cars before lucikly.

Junkyards have ignitions with keys for under $50 usually.

Have you checked with your dealer about making you a new key off the VIN#? I had some made for my 95 at mine without a key.

All you need is proof of ownership and the VIN # and a good dealership can cut a new key.
They call GM and give them the VIN # and GM calls them back with the cut information.
If the dealership has a key gun it only takes a couple of minutes to cut the key and it looks factory with no grinding marks.

yea I beleive they are like 15-20$ but less time then to cut into your ignition Unless of course you have to walk to the dealership.

Dealer price on the key is significantly higher than 15-20. Try 40-50.

If you need a COPY, and your local locksmith has an original key to copy, and also has the VATS or PASSKEY interrogator, you can expect 15-20.

Really I got my extra keys made at the dealership for a lot cheaper than $40 Becuase if it was 40 then I wouldnt have gotten so many. Although this was a couple years back.

There'* a few options..

If the car is a straight shot to the driveway.. you could unbolt the gear selector cable from the transmission and put it in neutral manually. Then...it'* a pushing/pulling game. Best of luck.

If your key didn't work..we could help you get around the vats..but hmmm you might find it easiest to pop the lock cylinder and bypass the vats.

Thanks for the reply. THis is what I am going to attempt to do, I will call tomorrow and see what the options are. Maybe I will sell the car instead of junking it now that I'll have to buy a new key and stuff...
