Well, she finally died on me...sorta. The car had been doin well for a couple of days and then i put 25bucks in her and she did not like it. I drove around town doin errands and such when i turned the corner and she did not want to go anywhere. I tried pumping the throttle and everything just kinda came to a hault. Shut it off for about 4mins. and was able to start it and pull into a parking lot. I called my wife to come get me and about a minute berfore her arrival i tried starting it and was able to get back to the house which is only like 2 mins away from the parking lot. So now i have no choice but to figure out what is wrong with it. So i tried to coil pack test and all the coil packs check out to be good. I went to the auto parts store and tried to buy a fuel pressure guage tester and i guess i bought the wrong one. :? So i guess back to the parts store...not sure if they have different varieties but could someone help me with getting the right one. THanks for all the replies and ideas guys...Keep em comin please

Two things besides the hot/cold fuel pressure checks:

1. How full was your tank when this last episode occurred?

2. Disconnect your battery cables and pull the protective rubber boots off them. How much corrosion do you see hiding in there under the boots that you can't see unless you pull them off?

The last time this occured was yesterday afternoon, I had been running errand and was taking my little brother to work cuz his car broke down, I had just put 25bucks in it. When i picked up my little bro i let it idle in the driveway for probably 10mins, got in and went to drive away and it didnt want to go anywhere, then my rpms dropped to about 450 and the oil light came on then she died. I tried to start it right back up and it did fire but there was like no throttle response, so i waited like 3-4mins then tried starting it back up and was able to get 27mph out of her to pull out of the middle of the road. Then waited about 10 mins started it up and drove back to the parents house where it sits now. goin to get a new pressure tester be back in 10mins

yes sometimes it comes on but it always goes off, never is on for more than 5 mins. But i just got back from the parts store and got the right gauges. ok here it is
1. Start up cold psi - 38-39
2.Rev it up to WOT psi - 40 for split second then declines rapidly to about 12 psi where she starts to studder and backfire
3. Warm idle psi - 39
4. Warm WOT psi - never really gets to 40 and drops rapidly as described above
Fuel pump?

SES light on? no brainer, you NEED to get the codes scanned to see what your car is trying to tell you...

the codes will still be there if the light is off.

You don't need a scantool. Techinfo will tell you how to pull codes with a paperclip.
