Default lights and performance parts

When I crank my car at night, my headlights come on but then go off a couple of minutes later. Also, seems like they stay on longer the colder it is outside. What'* going on? Where are some good sites to look for performance parts for my 98 SLE?

You are saying that the headlights come on at night and go off soon after.

When this happens is it very dark out and you are in a dark area. Overly lit areas can fool the system into thinking it is daylight. This could also be a photocell problem. The photocell is located on the far left side of the upper dash. It looks like a round sensor with a little hole in the middle.
