Update on knocking trans
Whats up guys!! I havent changed the fluid & filter yet ( going to today),But I haven't drove it since I added the sea foam.My Question is What brand of filter & fluid will be best considering my situation. A rebuild is definitely in order and the money saving process already started.

Of all the fluids I have seen, the best I think is......drum roll........COASTAL. Get it at Autozone.
No kidding...it'* Autozones brand, but it is bar-none the thickest fluid I have ever seen. An excellent choice for old and worn-out slushboxes.

I'm right there with Sandrock on Coastal.
I noticed that was the brand my mechanic buddy prefers.. , Jr's3800 has the cleanest fluid/trans and he uses coastal. My trans currently runs Coastal.

First Thank you Sandrock & BillBoost for your input on the fluid. I'm headed to AZ shortly. But my next querry is... as I was browsing through various posts with similar issues I came across a few that reccomended adding an additional cooler for the trans. I could be wrong (doubt it) But my car has what appears to be a factory installed cooler mounted on top of the condenser/radiator assembly. Is this possible and if so would it be necessary to remove it for an aftermarket? Sorry no pics.

That cooler you see...isn't the only cooler.
From the trans, a line goes to a "cooler" in the radiator, then from the top of that cooler, to the cooler you see on the front, and then back to the trans.
I've discussed with Don on how GM was short-sighted on the fact of having a cooler in the radiator. It cools in theory, but not in real-world. If at all possible, bypass that radiator cooler and just run with the external one. Or ditch them both and get a bigger cooler like I did.

Agreed Sandrock.. the duallity can seem a little off base. I believe that they went throught the radiator to assist warming the fluid in the winter time and cold areas of the country.
With the current cooler on your car..there'* really not much need to add another unless you are upsizing it.
