Tappet covers...I spy a Canadian eh!

Water on top of the heads can not be from a faulty water pump.

Close, North west lower michigan. Hillbilly country! No the water jacket from the head into the LIM had a failed seal,I suspect from the water pump leaking which caused heat and pressure to build due to the fact the cooling system could not pressurize and keep temperatures down.

The water went from the water jacket to the open space next to it that leads in to the tappet cover area. (Oil drain into the valley) I found both coolant and milky oil goo in the rock arm area.

Ohhhhh probably not the case. The LIM gaskets aren't known to be great quality until recently when GM put out a revised version that is aluminum framed.
