Armorplated, I would be very pleased if you would allow me to place your fantastic write-up into our Techinfo library for future generations.

I will drink another beer while I await your reply.

I've had excellent luck with water pumps. Had an 87 Bonnie go 208,000 before the pump went out and currently have a 97 Cavalier with 175,000 and still on the original!! Knock on wood it doesn't go when I'm far from home!!!

Great info Thanks. I'm replacing my upper intake manifold now using your posting as a guide.

Quick question, you said, "Intall the block to intake seals with gastket sealant.",can you clearify that a little more for me? Do you mean put gasket sealer on the top and bottom of the end seals or just where the gasket and seals meet?

The insrtuctions that came with the replacement gasket specifically says do not use any chemical sealants other than the one that comes with the gasket and that'* just to be used where the gaskets meet the end seals, any comments?

Thanks again.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like you've replaced yours.

Another quick question. The bottom of the manifold is a little pitted, should I have it resurfaced? I have an image of it if that will help.

That one I'm not too sure about....

I have heard of the lower intake needing replacement due to corrosion or pitting... Try and get a good pic posted, and see what our gear heads think... Good Luck..
I'll try that. Thanks again for the help.
