intermittent no start
The crank position seems to be 25 or 35 dollars at pep boys and they want 275 for labor. I do have the manuals and it seems like the following
Remove belt
Raise car
Remove harmonic balancer with special tool (I assume puller, If so I think you could borrow it for free from pep boys)
Remove shield
Replace
Is this correct? How long should it take to do this? Anything here I am missing?
Thank you All

That'* about it IF you have an impact wrench for the crank pulley (HB) bolt.
If not, you will need to pull off the flex plate cover and jam the plate against the block. I use a big phillips head screwdriver through one of the holes in the flex plate and turn the crank bolt CCW until it jams the screwdriver shaft against the block. This will hold the crank to remove the bolt with a socket, breaker bar and long cheater.
Once the pulley bolt is out you will need three puller bolts that will probably not come with the puller kit. These are 6mm diameter x 1.0mm/thread x 70 or 80mm length. The holes are kind of hidden on the HB, but they are there. You will also need hardened flat washers to fit the bolts outside the slot on the puller.
Once the HB is off, there is a plastic cover over the CPS that pulls off pins. Under that is the CPS attached with one or two 10mm head bolts.
$275?? I'll do it for you for $250!

I don't know how well electric impact wrenches work. My air-driven impact wrench is rated for 625 ft-lb in reverse, and has always worked fine on Bonnevilles, although but there have been some pulley bolts on other cars that it would not break loose.
If you have never changed out a CPS, figure a couple of hours including jamming the flex plate. Using an impact wrench will save you maybe 20 minutes on the lug nuts and the pulley bolt. I like to remove the RF wheel and inner fender splash shield to get a straight shot at the pulley bolt. Without an impact wrench, I use a long extension that brings me out past the fender so that I can use my 4-foot long cheater bar on a breaker bar handle. I support the outer end of the extension on a jackstand to keep the socket square on the bolt head while I apply humongous amounts of torque.

The car did not start again so I opened the ground bus but it looked like new. I then disconnected the battery cables; the positive sandwich set had a lot of corrosion between the pair. I cleaned it up and also noticed that the bolt going into the battery broke leaving only some of the threads. I assume the repair for this is a new battery, but it seems like I have enough threads left. I think corrosion may be the problem since maybe one of the hot cables is for the starter the other being for ignition. I will let all know if this was the problem
I have a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville 3800 that has a starting problem. This is an intermittent problem that after running and sitting for twenty minutes or more it will not start. It will crank but there is no spark. It has never had a problem when first started in the morning. I assume it cannot be a pass key II issue because it will crank. After it finally starts it run fine. Any help will be appreciated, it has been doing this for a year and slowly getting worse, any time I leave the car with my mechanic it works fine. HELP!
I read your post and felt some relief. I have a 94 Bonneville with the exact same problem down to the last word. It has been getting worse for the past 6 months. I have tried several different things including a new computer. Still no luck. I blow throttle position sensors like crazy. 3 in 6 months. It starts fine cold and will run great untill I shut it off. If I wait more than 10 minutes or so it will only turnover and has no fire to the plugs. I used to be able to let it sit for 30 minutes or so and it would start and run fine. These days I have to let it sit for up to 4 hours before It will start. It is so frustrating. Please let me know what you find out with your 95. Thank you so much.
