His leak definitely looks like a gasket problem, at least.

I limped it over to a garage down the street from me and they did a pressure test. It looks to be a failed UIM. There is some oil in the antifreeze, but there is no antifreeze in the oil. How the hell can that happen???
The garage said they would do the upper and lower for $275 in labor so I'm buying the parts and having them do it. The local dealer wanted $1200. Something does not sound right! The guys at the garage seem to be pretty good so I guess I trust them on that price.

It would be a failed upper intake gasket. Doesn't seem that the manifold itself failed (yet). While it is off, it is a good time to change it out like you plan on doing.

The garage pulled the upper and lower intakes off the car. The top intake gasket was the issue.
I have a friend that works for a local GM dealer so I was able to get the GM revised UIM the UIM gasket TB gasket kit, and lower intake gaskets for $120.00 total. One good thing...the lower gasket is made of some sort of metal and looks to be much better. I'm also having them install a 180 degree thermostat.
Should I go with the GM red antifreeze or the good old green stuff? Is there anything else I should have them do while it’* all apart?[/b]
