I have a friend that works for a local GM dealer so I was able to get the GM revised UIM the UIM gasket TB gasket kit, and lower intake gaskets for $120.00 total. One good thing...the lower gasket is made of some sort of metal and looks to be much better. I'm also having them install a 180 degree thermostat.

Should I go with the GM red antifreeze or the good old green stuff? Is there anything else I should have them do while it’* all apart?[/b]
DEXcool is OEM on GM cars i think 96 and up put the red stuff in the garage should know that already

I would stay with what the car had before in. As for 1200 for dealer that seems far they tried to tell me the upper uim had failed in my car. I have never coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant. Morlay of the story is clean the engine real nice about 6 month ago other then some salt up the she still cleaned other then around bottom of were engine meet the tranny.
