Default HUD display

I searched, but i couldn't come up with an aswer.
Is there a written walkthrough to fix the HUD ? Mine works, but the switch that moves it is broken, and the HUD faces too low for me to see. What steps should i take in fixing this ?
EDIT: I foolishly assumed that all bonnies had the same setup. hehe.

1993 SSE with the broken tailpipe mod.

put your year and trim level in your signature... will help people diagnois your problems...

take off the dash panel, and the HUD switch... there is a cable on the back, like a bike brake, and either its disconnected or broken

Actually..there may be a cable and there may be wiring. We need your year to determine the issue.

For example my 95, the cable was stiff from not being moved for years.
My 97 didn't want to move at first because the control motor inside the hud hadn't been used in years.

When you guys say, remove the dash panel, you mean, the whole entire freakin thing or, like in the cadillacs, just the trim around the switch, unscrew, remove, find cable, re-attach, repeat backwards... ?

This is the 93? You have a mechanical cable, not a switch. I'll move this back to the Mechanical section for you.

Remove the dash trim bezel. No tools. All the way from the radio to the headlight switch.

Now gently remove the HUD controls, and see if the cable is still attached to the back of that.
