Default How hard to remove headliner and put back on? please answer

Ok my car is about 75% sound proofed.. Only thing left is the headliner. Now how hard is it to remove the headliner and put it back on. I have heard 1000'* of horror storys..

But as anyone who has dynamatted before knows when you stop one rattle a new one appears.. I guess this could have went in the audio section and if a mod feels it should be there please move it..

Plus how does one remove the overhead console?

Default headliner

I have a 95 ssei, i had to remove the headliner to fix my sunroof drain tube which broke right on the A pillar, Man I was pissed, When taking the headliner down makesure you remve the entire visor, its on a clip and you have to pull it straight out or your gonna break it and its expensive to fix, all the other inter parts are held in with a screw and 2 clips the (the O **** ) handles above the passenger doors, Just pop the other pieces off very gently they are expensive to replace, unless you got a junkyard near by where you can scoop some of these pieces you may break thats what i had to do, And when you finally drop the headliner you really cant take it out of your car beacuse it went in through the rear window originally, just be carful not to tear it, GM parts does not carry no head liners and if you did find one its about $600. But other than that I had a few run ins but my job was completed, had to visit the wrecking yard but oh well good as new, also remember to remove the weather striping around the doors at least the top portion!

eh, don't worry about it that much. and you usually can find a way to get them back out of the car, i've done it on a few. never on a 92+ bonnie, but I did a 91 bonnie once.

anyhew, if you really want to know how to do it, go to a u-pick junk yard, and do it to one of the bonnies there (assuming they have any). it'* good practice, and it'* far easier to deal with breaking something on the junked car than on your own... take some paper, and take notes on what comes out how...

The headliner can be taken out, when I had mine redone they guy who did it was able to take it out through the front pasenger door without any damage. He did it all by himself, redid the headliner, and then put it back in all by himself. He did have to let the passenger seat back and in the recline position.

I just took mine out tonight and I'm redoing it. I ended up barely getting it out of the rear drivers side door.
