I know what ya mean. I've gotten her up to 100mph, but I backed off, cause that'* way to fast to hit a pothole or swerve or something. I'd rather keep it on the low end.

Jamming the engine by getting liquid in the cylinders. Since liquid doesn't compress, the piston basically slams into a brick wall, and the weakest component can fail: You bend a rod, break a rod, blow a head gasket, whatever will relieve the pressure if the entire engine can't soak up the shock. General bad stuff happens.

A hydrolock can occur if some idiot tries to, say, drive his little car through a deep puddle, and the engine snorks up liquid water through the air intake. Less frequently, a blown gasket can allow coolant to seep into a stopped engine, and if it fills the cylinder full enough before someone comes along to try and start it again, *wham* instant hydrolock as soon as they try to start it next time.

Ok. But I can't relate how that could happen by driving fast.
