I posted earlier this week saying how my car was running like crap and it was coming up with MAF and TPS codes. I replaced both of them. The car runs great now. The problem now is my idle is a little high. It is around 1300-1400 RPMS. Do I need to adjust the TPS? it is adjustable. Or will the computer eventually learn? I put the new TPS on as closely as the old one was set to.

the idle was high right after i did the TPS. This was before the MAF. I got a MAF from autozone. The TPS seems to be in a weird spot and I had to take the throttle body off to swap them.

Did you use a new gasket? Are you sure you reassembled with no leaks? That can cause a high idle. A vacuum leak can too.

The TPS on your 92 will have to be adjusted. You can use an ohmmeter or scantool. It CAN be adjusted on the TB, but it'* a tight squeeze. It'* all about selecting the right tool.

I did re-use the gasket. I don't think I have any leaks. I checked it a few times. Would the TPS cause the idle to be high if it is not calibrated correctly?

Yes, it can to some extent. Make sure your throttle cables also move freely and that your throttle plate is fully closed at idle. You'll have to remove your MAF screen (gently) to be able to see this.

I checked my TPS sensor voltage and it was at .30 at idle and 4.2 and WOT. Is that about normal? Seems a tad low at idle compared to what I have been reading on here.

I think the TPS Sensor voltage should be closer to o volts at idle which equates to o % TPS angle as it is interpreted by the ECM.
