when he said he had to hold the prom in, i assumed that the little tabs that lock it in place are gone. so his prom may be fine. more info needed though. maybe even a pic.

Well the chip says in the front Delco AYZB 8246 ,and for the questions if the ECM was rebuild i dont know it says in the front Factory Authorized remanufacutered Module so i am guessing that is rebuild

If you get my PCM, you will need to put in your memcal chip from the old PCM. Other than that, my PCM should be compatible.

The ECM in the photo is a reman. An original one from GM would have a two-part paper tag that calls out both the ECM'* PN (16141470) and the Broadcast Code (AYZB) on the outside of the aluminum case. The calibrator prom however appears to be correct for your car (AYZB is for a 1992 L27 H body with a 2.84 axle (F17) and Federal emmissions.)
