Hi some of you guys alredy know me for a long ago question about some problems that i were having with mi ECM. This Is my question i bought a 95 bonneville almost wreck from the roof because he slippe upside down in a accident the engine is intact is the series 2 is like new it has like 169,000 miles to it ,and other parts of the car that i want to rip a part for my bonnevile. can i used the ECM of the 95 bonneville on mi 92 bonneville and if not all i have to do i swap the engine and the ECM ? or it will require something else to transfer for the 95 to the 92 thanks in advance ......

No, the two PCM'* are not compatible with each other.

im sorry, but im not 100% sure what you plan on doing here. but personally, i wouldnt put the effort in using the 95 ser 2 in the 92 car, if thats what you are wanting to do.

what problems are yoou having with the 92? (that is the good car right?)

ECM & PCM both refer to the computer. ECM (Engine Control Module) was used before the transmission was electronic. Once the computer started controlling the trnsmission it became PCM (Powertrain Control Module)

well i am having problems with mi ECM (The Computer in back of the glovebox of the passengers floor that have 3 connectors) shes not letting me to retrive the codes and its giving me problems with the eprom chip its not making good circuit (contact) and the car sometimes doesnt start cause its not reading the chip like its supose to , i had bought a 95 bonneville with the series 2 engine and i was planing to put the ECM (Computer) from that one to mines That is a Bonneville 92 but if the ECM does not work on mine i was thinking to swap the Series 2 engine with its own ECM to mine what do you think should i do that or not or should i stick with mine and buy the new ECM and Eprom chip new. because if i put a something tha makes presure on the chip the car works well any advice or help is super apreciate thanks in advance

if the only problem is the pcm, then i would just look for a new one. (or used rather). i'm sure Brad, (sandrock) will give you a good deal.

maybe just part out the 95. bc you can't ust the 95 pcm, and eng, w/o changing the wiring to the pcm in ur 92.

Even with a replacement PCM, unless it'* the eprom socket that is an issue, you'll need an eprom specific to your year, engine, and trans (final drive) ratio.
