exhaust leak? it can sound like a lifter.

Nope not an exhaust. This is a metalic rattle almost sounds like a diesel motor when you rev it to 2000 rpm'* or more. Sounds as though it is right in the intake. Its not a tick like a lifter tick it more of a knock or again a rattle..

cut the filter open and there is metal in there that wont stick to a magnet ?? Bearing ??

Run a computer hard drive magnet on the oil plug for a couple days. Then pull it quickly and plug the hole with your thumb and look for shavings.

the metal that was in the filter and came out with the oil was non magnetic. Thats why it seemed like bearing material. I wondered if he continued to run it that it would do alot more damage ??

I took the car to another guy with some know how and he thinks it is a rod or main bearing. After letting the oil dry out from filter there is a lot of metal in the filter and it sticks to a magnet.
