Rather than throwing money at the problem, I suggest actually checking the oil pressure with an aftermarket gauge, particularly in light of the fact that we have knocking and stalling.

i work at bob johnstons

i am gonna get some general techs to help me take a look
i jsut got the car
i used to have a 97 grand am with a 3.1 v6 and the engine gave me no problems
i was taking it for the first drive as its owner and this happens..

Yeah mine ran like a bag of **** when i bought it, after i brought it to one of the Generals we found and fixed the problem and car ran GREAT, you will love it once fixed trust me

Also what do you do a Bob Johnsons?

i will check all these things tomorrow

sorry if i sound a lil angry,,,i just got this car and its jsut crapped out on me,,i had to push the thing quite aways..its HEAVY

and to say the least i am frustratred...i can;t wait to rip into her tomorrow and get down to the issue...i will try everything u guys ahve reccomened to me,,,and again

i am a luber

i did the upper and lower intake gaskets on my 1997 grand am,..it was a 3.1v6 ,,,i learned so much from that engine..i jsut got this one today....

ya np..the car is white..american racing rims stock exhaust...full leather interior like 20 way adjustable seats,,,heads up display...the car is SWEEET..,,she has 200k...alll dealer serviced here and at city..GM certa tranny ...brand new SC was installed..but i don't know how long ago...new exhaust, new rear drums, and rotors...the evap was done too...a new one was retrofitted in..under the hood its very clean!

ok so i took the oil pan off

i spun a bearing,,,3 connecting rods are cooked :(

anyone have a 1992 ssei motor?? my sc is good...but i need a new motor now..not worth it to re-build


can i use a non-sc 3.8? and use the parts from my motor to make a new motor sc??
