Well, after trying everything the best posters of this board shot at me, I gave in and took it to a mechanic...Thanks to everyone who helped me on this although I was at me wit ends on why my battery was not charging correctly...

He just told me the PCM is out and sending false signals to my charging system...Again, this car is probably going to be sold and probably does not have much value so I'm trying to save money on the fixes...

If anyone has any advice on changing a PCM (what ever that is, heh) or where to get the best deals on them, I would really appreciate it...

You can find PCMs on Ebay. I think I've seen them for about $60 or so. What year do you have?

The PCM is basically the cars computer. Changing it is easy. Some may need a case learn done So far as I know, 96 is a simple swap, and 97 you change your knock module.

DT.. I'll bet ya a gallon of super unleaded that he'* a 94 or 95. But honestly he'* posting so many new topics...I can't keep track.

I think I'm going to combine them all so they are easier for future posters to follow.

EDIT: ding ding ding!!!! I'm a winner. 94 and 95 were super flaky pcms. Most junkyards have tons of cars with pcms that will work for you. My local charges $20 for a pcm. Almost any GM bodystyle that is the same look as your Bonne (park ave, lesabre, bonneville etc) will work, even the Pontiac Transports. Take the two screws off the little cover and remove the blue chip. Put your computers blue chip (EPROM) into the new computer and away you go. This should be a cheap, super easy fix.

PCM'* in your year are under dash, above the passenger side kick panel (2 7mm screws). They are a silver box with three connectors laying on the floor/firewall. The connectors are red, white and blue. Unplug the connectors, find the plastic piece holding the pcm in place and release it. Tada..it'* yours.

You know, we need to get a pile of those PCMs seeing that pops up every now and then. That way we can take care of members that need them. Watch the scrap yard Bill.

Been taking care of members for a while now Dan. Just don't have any spares at the moment. NEBF can really wipe a guy'* stockpile of parts out ya know.

I called for a quote this morning and for the Delco PCM they quoted me $249.00..So I will look to do this first:

Open and remove the PCM cover, turn the cover upside down to view the
relay and fuse positions on the inside of the cover! Remove the individual relays and fuses one at a time, removeing the old
di electric grease completly with knife/metal finger nail file,
spraying the inside of the female contacts(inside the PCM Box) with electricial contact cleaner, letting contact cleaner evorporate completely!, then apply di electric grease( which can be purchased at radio shack) on each side of metal contacts before reinserting into PCM housing,pressing firm but gently for seating! If contacts aren't
seated correctly can result in intermettent elcerticial problems!!
I removed the ABS relay from the PCM case and it was covered with
blue colored powered,cleanded each individual relay and fuse of
of old debree and reseated each individually. Runs great, only cost a few hours of my time and not dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I'm sure the Bonne'* PCM box is different from this one but I will clean ends and relays first before paying $250 retail...

Yes, cleaning is a great first step. If that don't work then try a salvage yard.
