Bill you mention the turbulance hinders performance. Should those of us with them consider swapping it out if we are not considering rice pipes?

Here'* the resident theory on that. The intake volume should meet or exceed the volume the engine can consume in one complete set of intake strokes, I think. I need to go through my book again, but it'* something like that. It has to do with "pulses". Same deal with intake runner length and exhaust tube length before they meet together. Has something to do with the speed of sound in the formula.
