That'* a Helmholtz resonator. Certian volumes cancel certain noise frequencies. THere is one on the front of the air box also. You should see the size of the resonator on the Durango Hemi. ******* ginormous.

I think it'* a RinkaZink Modulator, the most famous invention of the legendary and prolific inventor Ed Schnertz.

94 and 95 L67'* were like that. 92 and 93 don't have it. That little sucker is introducing turbulence into the plenum. It'* a bad thing for performance.

correct that is not my car......BUT the SLE did come Supercharged in 95-97, and the SLE also had the Auto level in 95 as an option

and the SLE is a special package that is added to the SE, and is under the SSE untill 2000 when it replaced the SSE

I figured they had two purposes, one was for resonation/cancellation, and maybe a little extra air for the SC when it pulls hard? < wild guess
