Why doesn't the Haynes manual mention anything about a special puller?

It says to jam the teeth of the flywheel thing with a screw driver and get a 6 point socket and take it off...

Did fixing the harmonic balance fix your problem? If so how did you pin-point that it was the problem?

I am having a bad clacking noise at idle only....but no one knows what it is!
