I guess I'm ignorant on the definition of SRTA

Perhaps the bulletin doesn't apply?

SRTA is an acronym for Service Replacement Transmission Assembly, a GM factory remanufactured transmission. I costs plenty but comes with a 3 year 50K mile warranty. They are advertised as having all service bulletins and updates incorporated. The service bulletin mentioned called for a complete valve body replacement, not just a component replacement. This implies a wear or manufacturing tolerance problem, not a a misassembly issue. These valve and bodies are aluminum and therefore subject to wear. Wear and leakage is a known issue for the TCC modulated valve. Sonnax has a Sure Cure kit that sleaves the TCC modulated valve with a hardened liner, and replaces that and the TCC apply spool valves with hardened units. But I doubt I could convince GM to install this kit under warranty. I'm still hoping to here from the Twin Cities members for any recommendations of a good GM dealership.

My parents were unhappy with Walser service in 2001 when they purchased their camry, but Valley Pontiac/GMC in Apple Valley has been very good with them and their Solstice. We've taken it in to have the hood re-aligned, the diff replaced due to a leak, and both were done in record time.

The Diff replacement might actually be the fastest one on the Solstice forums if i remember right...
