That would be a neat trick. I know for certain that 92 and 93 don't.

I DO NOT have an SLE it is an SE and I have seen the white tab. So what am I supposed to do exactly to release it. Pull it out, turn it, pull it down? Also, once I release it do you think it will lock right back up as soon as I lock the doors or do you think that it man just need to be "reset"?

I'd be surprised if your year didn't have a manual release. The earlier cars don't, but yours should.
Did you read this reply? It may solve your problem.

After you get it open, remove the actuator and try to free it up and lubricate it.

While I have a bracket in that location, I have no manual release, nor are there any holes in the bracket for screws.

At the same time, a 97 SHOULD have the manual release IF it has a locking door.

Nick, look UNDER the rim of the trunk opening. Get your head IN the trunk and look up and to the left near the hinge, inside the left rear quarterpanel above the top edge of the carpet.

Not right now. I'm juggling about 5 things at once, including a kid with a 101.2 degree fever.

Nickg.. the tab pulls to the rear of the vehicle. Probably only 1/4".. but that'* all the actuator needs to move.
