Default frontend hubs

I don't know if i'm in the right place but here it goes .Yesterday my wifes 97 n/a bonn, wheel bearing went out and the thing cost'* $135 at napa advance was higher and auto zone was even higher@140 &155 thats very expensive.I went through napa because he gives me discounts?
My neighbor told me I had to take the frontend apart ,so I did on the right side and after I got to looking all I had to take off was the wheel and the brake caliper and tha three screwes and the hub fell out yeha :? but now I've figured it out.now I'm going to miss driving mine 96sc :( :( yall have a good night

Glad to hear you got it fixed!

There should have also been a big 34(?) mm nut to hold the end of the drive axle in place in the hub. If it wasn't there, be sure to get one and install it.

All GM FWD wheel bearings I see are designed that way. Tell your friend they owe you a 12 pack for the extra work you did.

did it just like up and go out? or was it a gradual process, i always thought wheel bearings were something that declined gradually instead of straight up failing like that.

It is gradual. You don't even realize in the very early stages, then gradually you start to hear it sing.

na the wheel bearing started roaring and my wife told me about it . Then I decided to fix it asap 'because she drives that car all the time .,it'* nothing for her to put 100 miles on it a day . So i got to keep it up.
