My plastic ones were at 140,XXXmiles. They were showing some wear, but weren't hurting anything.

Pulled the belt off last week bcuz she was making a horrible noise. I gave the alt a spin and there was a squeak (the tensioner made no noise at all). Replaced the alt for 250 bucks. The next day she'* squealing again. Replaced the tensioner today (37 bucks).

Wish I had tried that first.

the brushes in the alt usually squeak when turned at low speed. This is normal.
