Default FIXED!!!!!! 96 SSEI WAS stuck at my place -now started

96BonnevilleL67 came over to my place today @ 1PM and for SC porting. What a beautiful port job I have to admit, but the problem arose when everything was reassembled and the car would not fire. Have my brothers 97 SSEi and cousins 97 GTP parked right next to it and everything looks good, all plugs are connected, vacuum lines are routed correctly (But the big vacuum connections on the front of the SC are cracked big time, as they were before when the car ran/started fine).

Car cranks, but won't fire and the plugs when we pulled are soaking wet. I did break the plastic ring on the tip of one injector putting the O-ring on, but I did that on 4 injectors when I did my 95 and that car popped right off, ran rough for a couple seconds and smoothed out..... Travis 97 ran AWESOME from the first cycle of the ignition when we did his!!

I'm sure you checked this already but...

Fuel pressure good to go? Do you have a gauge?

Getting spark at all the wires?

First few things I can think of.

If you have an identical car next to it and the above conditions are true..I'd start swapping the easily swapable parts.

It sounds like you're getting fuel, how about spark? You might have to pull all the plugs & let everything dry out. If you're not getting spark check for power (with key on) at the pink (pink/black?) wire going to the ICM. Did you check battery cables & fuses?

Ok, just got back from giving him a ride home... the car is staying here overnight. Will be back at it tomorrow morning/midday when I get back from church/baptismal ceremony and pick Daniel up from his place in Albany.

It started firing but it'* just won't stay running... it is PIG RICH with the fuel. Pulled the front plugs and tried firing there to check for fuel at first and the fuel is practically pouring out of the plug holes.
We're gonna doctor up the cracked vacuum fittings tomorrow, as well as pull the plugs and let the cylinders dry out.
Will also change the BCS canister as the vacuum nipple is broken off and Crazy Glue isn't working.

Hey Marty, this is mainly for you, but it should be public. Thanks for all the help on my car. Don't feel bad about this, you're doing me a huge favor and saving me a shitload of money while you're at it, it WILL run tomorro!(actually today but what ever) . And you know why? Because I'm willing to bet that it'* some completely stupid reason, and I'm willing to bet it'* a vacuum leak somewhere. But the reason I'm posting here is that remember that nice set of L.I.M. gaskets and the */c couple kit that I order priority mail ($47) on Thursday evening from Intense? Still no tracking number, and no conformation that it has even been sent out yet..... Really not something I or anyone else here I believe would expect from a highly reputable company like Intense. I'll end my rant there.
P.*. That chip dip was the ****!!!

The plugs are soaking wet with WHAT? Fuel or coolant?

O-rings....were they installed with the new intake gasket?

Were the coil packs off of the ICM, and if so are they in the right order? I found out that was one of the reasons why mine would not fire.

Had a similar problem with my son'* '99 GP, but his died on his way to work. Occasionally, it would fire but die right away. It was a bad MAF.

Here are a few things to check if you haven't already.

Make sure temperature sensors & TPS are connected.
Make sure throttle plate isn't hanging up.

You can use a #194 light bulb to see if injectors are pulsing or being held open.
Cranking with throttle wide open should engage the 'clear flood mode'. Bulb shouldn't light at all while in this mode. If engine doesn’t start in about 10 seconds I would crank for another 10 seconds with throttle wide open.

Plugs were wet with fuel. Practically no coolant leaked into the LIM when the SC was pulled (maybe one or two smalle drips as we puleld the TB before removing the SC and therefore drained a bit of coolant from the SC.

And yes, the yellow O-rings were installed with the SC gasket.

Injectors are definitely pulsing.... we pulled the plugs and turned the engine over with them removed and fuel was spitting out of each in sequence according to the FSM firing order from my 1995.

I tried the full throttle 'clear flood mode' and it helped at first but as soon as it fired and I let up it died and the next time I tried it was flooded too much for that to work again.

Thanks for the ideas guys... heading back out to the car now since I just got back from church and picking up Daniel.

Will keep you guys updated.

You had the fuel lines disconnected when you removed the blower, right? Did anyone reach in the car and cycle the ignition key for whatever reason? Firing up the fuel pump and dumping gas in the open lower intake?

Sounds like its just flooded real bad. Clear flood may not clean it out if it'* that wet. You will probably have to remove all the plugs, crank the engine with the injectors unplugged, and burn the plugs off with a propane torch. See if it starts after that.
