Default a few problems here ** video***

i have a few problems here i just replaced a engine in a 98 se it runs fine and throws no SES light
problem one: i have a noise coming from the passenger side of the car that sounds like a ting while in gear my best guess is the harmonic balancer
problem 2 even thou the car runs purrs at a idle and throws no SES light it has no balls at all it wont spin the tires or anything
problem three: the trans wont shift out of first when you giver WOT at a stand still but if you feather the pedal it shift?

my theory is the Harmonic balancer is bad there for causing the timing to be off there for makin it have no power?

any thoughts?

Recently there have been a couple of threads similar and I've noticed each time Rogue has asked about a CASE learn. On the power end, that'* very likely needed.

Case learn is only necessary if you replace your PCM.

Harmonic balancer can't be the issue, as the 3x and 18x rings are attached to the hub on the crankshaft. Even if the rubber totally fails, you still have good timing info.

Good point, Bill. However, I've never heard of a car low on power because it needed one.

Could that noise be the interruptor ring impacting or too close occasionally to the crank sensor? Something to think about from a wrecker motor.

GAMEOVER.. on the no balls thing:

Check your TPS voltage through the entire throttle cycle. Hook up the scanner and turn the key to ON (NOT START ). push on the throttle slowly and watch the voltage increase. If you notice it suddenly resetting, that means the TPS is bad. I had the same problem, fix was replacing it.

Mortehl....This is not going to fix every problem. The post is about a QDM fault. Not a TPS related code.
