During an autotap scan while out cruising today,I noticed some high knock retard readings and was like holy shitake.I decided to head home and go over my logged scans to see if i could come up with the reason why i was getting so much knock this time out and had zero knock on a few prior scans,Well all readings seem to be in the norm except KR,I then pulled out my service manual and came across this"The Traction Control system Desired Torque signal from the EBTCM may cause Knock retard to display a value greater than O.O if traction control is active"Boy was i happy to read that ,went back out for a lap around the block with TC off and knock readings where back to 0.Autotap,paired up with service manuals are priceless.

Yup, when I had my 1999 auto-tapped I forgot to turn the TC off and in first gear with WOT timing was being pulled like 18*. Finally realized it and turned it off. Was getting 3* pulled then. The GP guys there couldn't belive their eyes. Their TC is ABS based, and doesn't pull timing. When we checked the KR readings though, they showed 0 knock sensed.

Durring our meet this ast satuday I had mine hooked up to my laptop the whole time. The most I saw was 0.2 (uphill at 20mph under WOT).

The funny thing is I was riding with Hankster (newer member here) the other day while checking out his ride with my scanner and he wasputting up KR everytime he hit aan onramp at half throttle. And he has a 95 SE... go figure?
