Default EVAP problems....

OK....a while back I was getting a CEL. I had it scanned at Boost'* place and it said something about the EVAP line. Which the GM dealership that I bring it to said the same thing. So....I was wondering if there is ANY way to pinpoint the location of the leak?? I replaced a vac line that was most likely leaking that day at Bill'*....and it really didn't do anything(weather or not that has anything to do w/the EVAP line) I have a whole chart that Boosty printed out when he scanned it....but it'* pretty much gibbrish(sp?) to me. HELP ME!! I need to get it inspected next month and this needs to be fixed by then!!

Dave...remind us of the code.
I don't remember which one. Also check for any other lines that might be bad.

DTC P0442.....And I will check for other possible leaks. But other than that how would I know where it would be leaking? Would I hear anything out of the ordinary?

OK....thanks for the help guys!! I checked around that area and nothing seems to be bad...there is one piece that has a small crack..but doesn't look like it could pose a problem(yet). So while I played around with stuff there I unplugged the battery....now another ? I have is how long should it take for the light to come back on?? If it was serious it would come right back on, no? It hasn't come back on yet!!

I believe the problem has to occur twice before the light will come on. At least thats what I was told when I had my misfire code. Not sure if thats the way all codes are.

Well...what'* odd to me is that we reset it at Bill'* that day, it came back on like a week or so later. Then it was on for months then it decided it wanted to turn off :? It was off for like another week or so then came back on? I didn't unplug the battery or have it serviced at all during this time either?
