Default Engine Trouble need direction

After ignoring an UIM leak, the LIM leak failed and coolant got into the cylinders. When I tried to start the car after work(sitting five hrs) the engine was locked up. I hauled the car back to the garage removed the plugs and the motor turned over. I then drained the oil, which looks like black sludge. If I threw a berring how would I know. If it was hydro-lock how would I know. Also, If just hydro-lock I need direction and specs on how to change the intake manifolds. I need some help guys. also I have a normally aspirated L36

You already hydrolocked the engine (Won't crank with coolant in cylinders). Change the oil ASAP!! Then read http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=38

You did the best thing you could have done by draining the oil. You don't throw bearings, you spin them. Then you throw rods. You haven't done either yet. Its likely that once you fix the intake mainifolds you will be fine since you didn't let water sit in the crankcase. You just won't know until you fix the motor. This happened to MOS95B, he had a shop fix the manifolds, and it was over a year before it started knocking.

Thanks for the info. I removed the UIM and the lower manifold and gasket. What now? I know I need a new LIM gasket, and a new UIM. Which ones should I get. Should I replace the thermostat with a 180 degree one. Should I get a small egr tube? What the best way to clean all the old sludge out. I'm sorry, I know its a lot of questions but I need the help.

Please read the Techinfo article linked for you above. Most of your questions are answered there including links to threads explaining the repair work in more detail.

Drain the coolant, then change the oil filter and flush the crankcase and oil galleries with cheap 5W-30 oil by cranking the engine with the plugs out or by rotating the engine with a heavy drill. Drain the oil and do the oil flush again. Ensuring that the bearings are flushed of any trace of coolant and are bathed in fresh oil will be your best hope of recovering the useful life of the engine.

Use "mixes with any color or type" coolant.
