Engine died -won't run now
Hello, new to the site, already did some checking on previous post, but thought I would post a new one to see if someone could help "zero in" on the problem.
I have a '95 Bonne SSEi, my wife was driving to work and the engine died about 10 miles from home, it was very low on fuel, but I've run it even lower without any problems. She was able to re-start it for several seconds and then it would die again. We towed it to a station and put some gas in it, and same thing , it would start for 3-5 seconds and die .
I checked for fuel at the fuel rail and it appeard O.K. Towed it home and put a gage on the fuel rail and it has 40-45 lbs of pressure . Hot wired fuel pump test connector and pump runs, good pressure, etc. Checked for spark on 2 wires + O.K. Checked for codes with scanner - none stored. Checked compression on one cyclender +130 lbs.
I don't think it'* a timing issue because as I said it re-started several times and ran fine up to 5-10 seconds. I don't have a injector test light. I pulled a plug and it was bone dry.
Sprayed carb cleaner in intake and it attempted to start.Fluids look fine. Now it doesn't want to try to start at all ??? Seems like injectors arn't firing ???

It looks like you've already done a good bit of testing. Have you checked for spark? Battery connections and ground? I know not normal symptoms for that, just trying to find out other options.

Goin' the same way as Lash here, i.e., spark. Sometimes a bad coil will do this to you. Or a bad PCM. Check spark at ALL the coil connections to the plug wires. One coil gone bad can prevent start.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Spraying carb cleaner in your Throttle Body with the MAF sensor installed is a bad idea.
You may have added another problem.
Please check for spark at all 6 cylinders.

You mention having spark and fuel (at the rail). I'd be aiming to check the injectors to ensure they are getting pulse and working.
Double check the connection at the front of the ignition control module.

I agree check for spark and fuel pulse at all 6 cylinders...
It seems as if you will find spark at all 6 cylinders... The ICM does the initial start sequence and will most likely start to 1000-1300 rpms or so... Engough to hit the key, see the tach go to 1300 or so and then back down and die in a hurry...
My Opinion is that either the ICM is not toggling or the PCM is not taking over control...
Look for the spark first, After that check for fuel pulse at the injector pigtail..

And like I always say, if you were my neighbor we'd have a lot of stuff to throw at it just to be sure..

Here'* what I've found out: Good spark at all coil terminals, however NO injector operation. I tested all injector connectors with a test light, the light NEVER came on with igniton in any position or when cranking over the engine. I checked for batt.voltage on the supply side from the Injector fuse, and that side checks O.K. There appears to be no voltage/toggle from the PCM. I tried the trouble shooting chart in my '88 service manual that suggests applying 12 volts to the reference terminal of the ICM to see if it would make the injector curcuit work momentarily and this didn't work either. It'* looking like the injector driver circuit(*) in the PCM has crapped out ?? or what am I missing/suggestions. Is the salvage yard the only place to look for a replacement PCM, or is this repairable??

Thanks
