Default Electronic climate controls....How do you select vents ?

I recently bought a 92 SSEi and can't fully figure out the Electronic Climate Control buttons.
How do you select dash vents or floor ?
I read the owners manual and it doesn't say how to select which area you want the heat or A/C to blow out of.
I tired playing around with it but I can't get it to select the dash vents, only the windshield or floor.
What button(*) do you push to switch between the different areas ?

Thanks in Advance,
Dutch

Why are you trying to manually select the vents? ECC obviously knows what vents you want better than you do.

I hate this fact as well.

Got a 95 and I think they are pretty much all the same to control. I press the Mode button up or down once and it'll select the floor and defroster vents. Press it again and it goes to floor and dash vents. I don't push my luck past semi success.

on my 97 it'* the mode button.. there'* no up or down as the down says Auto and will turn auto climate on.. I have to press the mode button till the pic shows the desired vents I want. Right now I leave it on auto cause of the changing season.. but when it'* summer.. it'* vents.. when it'* winter it'* foot and winshield.

up until, what? 94? the mode could not be adjusted. you're at the mercy of the climate control to decide what is best for you. You could not change where the airflow was directed until I think 95. What a bad design. *shakes head*

You choose, heat or cold
You choose where you are putting it.
