Default ELC Swap (now with pics)

My parts car happens to be equipped with CCR and ELC, I was just wanting some opinions on whether or not to do the swap. Here'* the facts, my car needs new struts, I realized this recently on a road trip. I will be replacing the struts, I am also fond of the ELC system, because I have a heavy stereo system. It seems to me that the ELC is also a plus for drag racing, which I will be doing when my swap is complete. I was wondering if it is worth the trouble, and what kind of wiring issues will I be running into.

do the ELC but ditch the CCR.....the ELC should be a straight forward swap......

the compressor is behind the right pass wheel, and there is an Arm on that rear Pass A arm and the sensor....take that and all the air lines, also get the trim in the trunk that has the schrader valve...you will need a switched power source for hte compressor

Is the CCR not useful? I have actually never driven a car with it.

What breaks on it, because I will be installing fresh struts if I do the swap. If not the struts what else is included in the system other than the switch panel wiring, compressor, air lines, and struts? I assume there is a control module of some sort that hooks into the PCM, but I haven't located it yet.

If you're gonna try and replace the CCR struts with OEM, you're gonna be looking at over 1000 dollars if you can even find them. The CCR was so unreliable that even the dealer sells the CCR delete struts.

I think commonly it'* the sensors and the control module.

Sounds like a pain in the ***. I definitely want the ELC though, was that ever offered w/o the CCR as an option, or were they a package deal?

yup it was. the CCR is a different system from the ELC.

All you need for that is the rear struts, the compressor and lines and sensors.

That settles it, I have the day off tomorrow. I will be pulling the complete ELC system out from underneath the car. This may be a high beer count job with the Florida heat.
