that can't happen with the 96-99. The elc system can't come on with the vehicle off. all it can do off is purge air.
I'm glad that GM changed that because it would constantly be kicking on, on my '92 and killing the battery. I'm pretty sure that I had a few leaks in the system considering the car is 14 years old. I just removed the compressor because I don't have fat friends and I don't haul a bunch of crap in the trunk ever.

Might be interesting to see what years and models had the ELC linked to the ignition, and what years had the ELC with its own power source
My 92 SSE will come on while the ign is off.
