Maybe I had a leak. I disconnected the line in the trunk and connected it to the "T" connector under the trunk. This made the outlet in the trunk an inlet, I control the pressure as needed. Removing the pump made room for my FWI. Just food for thought.
that can't happen with the 96-99. The elc system can't come on with the vehicle off. all it can do off is purge air.
I'm glad that GM changed that because it would constantly be kicking on, on my '92 and killing the battery. I'm pretty sure that I had a few leaks in the system considering the car is 14 years old. I just removed the compressor because I don't have fat friends and I don't haul a bunch of crap in the trunk ever.

On my 91 SSE the pump only comes on when the ignition is on... Or I have turned on the pump via the Inflator in the trunk... With the ignition off the back end could be near the ground and do nothing untill the car is turned on...

I know on some of the older Caddies the ELC ran weather or not the ignition was on...

Might be interesting to see what years and models had the ELC linked to the ignition, and what years had the ELC with its own power source
