ELC/inflator problem

well, the pump has never worked when i press the ON button. i hear a click, but that'* it. if the pump does not come on when i press the button, would i be correct in assuming that my ELC is not working? I don't hear anything when i turn the ignition on, but i don't have anything real heavy to load the trunk with, so I obviously haven't done that test...
i have been reading up, but haven't been able to figure out where the pump is located on the 95 SSE.
Is there a fuse or relay i should check first? where are these located?

if your pump is in the same spot as my 95 SSEi look under the hood next to the drivers side wheel well. mine kind of sits under my CAI. I've been told that if yours runs exsessivly (because of a leak or something similar) they can burn up easily. I'm not sure about fuses or relays but I'd look in the owners manual for diagrams of the fuse panels. that may help lead you to something.

i found the pump, it is underneath the carpet in the trunk near the wheelwell.

i saw a very corroded connection that i thought might be the problem, and cleaned it but it didnt seem to have any effect. I also tried putting 12V from the battery, and a ground to the connectors but the pump just make a funny clicking noise (not the solenoid click that happens when you press the inflator button... it was louder)
but the pump didn't start. i'm pretty sure it'* fried.

any idea how much one would be from the junkyard?
