Default dual climate ac/heater

i turned on my heater this morning and i was getting heat out of the driver side but the
passenger side ws blowing ice cold ac. anyone have any sujestions. i have already checked my vacuum line under the hood. my vents switch fine from dash to floor and
defrost.

Take a look for the air mix actuator for that side.

I beleive the one you are looking for is behind the glovebox.

Open the glovebox up and empty it.
Move thye rubber stoppers and openthe glovebox up all the way.
You should be able to see the actuator up near the top center in there.

Testing is the same as you found in searching it.

Its a 20 minute fix, if that, with the right tools. Too bad the part isn't cheap from the dealer ($90 here)

this morning i got heat out of booth sides. could it be a bad diaphram on that vacuum actuator

The actuators are electronic. There is a gear inside that cracks and will slip on the shaft when trying to rotate it to open or close the airmix door.

It may work for some time now. Thats how it was with my Olds before i finally replaced it.
